In some contexts, Hindi and Urdu are taught in the same courses, and in others they are completely separate. Although the languages are very similar in their spoken form and vocabulary, the writing systems and the cultural and sociopolitical contexts lead to many differences that will impact your lesson planning, appropriate content, learner goals, curriculum decisions, and program development.
