I have always loved languages, but the joy of language teaching comes from seeing comprehension emerge out of baffled confusion, forming connections with people from all over the world, and unlocking the doors that multilingual abilities can open. I have a degree in theatre as well as a doctorate in applied linguistics and English as a second language, and I have trained working professionals all over the country through my work as director of an online graduate program for language educators. VITALanguages gives me the opportunity to go beyond instruction, advising, and research to a level of mentoring and guidance that can really impact the effectiveness, growth, and long-term resilience of teachers and programs.
